Nation - He was grew up an Air Nomad, but left when he was older as he couldn't bend like almost everyone else, so he doesn't usually associate himself with the Nomads.

APPEARANCE

build - Ryu has been described as nearly skin and bones, though in reality he is just average, not slender nor fat. Somewhere in between.
hair - Ryu has a deep blonde, almost yellow hair color. Usually it is straight, with a sort of shaggy end to it. He doesn't ever change it up, no matter if it's to something special, due to rain, or anything. He likes it as it is.
face - He has deep green eyes, which are quite beautiful. His face has an obvious V shape that makes his chin quite dominant, but his eyes and calm look he has at all times overpowers his chin's dominance.
distinguishing features - Unless you count his calm look, he really doesn't have any scars nor deformities.
other - His milky white sRyu hasn't tanned in the sun yet, so it's still a nice milky white. He usually has his hands in his pockets, and his expression is very calm.

HISTORY
When Ryu was only a small kid, he was abandoned by his parents, who left him on the street. A young man, with a bald head and arrow tattoos, took Ryu up, looRyug for his parents. When the man discovered that Ryu was abandoned, he took him back with him to his country of the Western Air Nomads. Ryu grew up in the Western Air Nomad Community surrounded by airbenders. He was taught the spiritual way to life by the monks, but never could airbend like his friends were able to do. Do to that, he was unable to play many games and felt like an outsider.

When he was 15 years old he requested permission to leave and go around the world. After much deliberation, he was granted permission, as the monks believed that Ryu needed to find himself, as the Air Nomads wasn't his true life, nor calling. Ryu left with few good-byes to those of the Western Air Nomads and made his way in the world. He visited every nation looRyug for his calling, but never found it. Along the way, however, he picked up a bow and arrow set at a Earth Ryugdom shop, and began practicing and teaching himself. He was able to become a superb bowman, and became known only slightly as one of the greater bow wielders.

Ryu keeps traveling around the world, helping those in need along the way, just searching for what he is supposed to do in this world.

PERSONALITY
Ryu has always felt like an outsider, but that didn't stop him from listening to the monks as the temple. As such, Ryu is a very spiritual person, who meditates, and is as tuned to the spiritual world as someone besides the avatar could hope to ever be. Ryu has one of the coolest tempers in the world, and is extremely fast on his feet. Twinkle toes is an accurate description of his footing on the earth, much like most of the other residents of the Air Nation. Ryu will try to avoid killing at all costs, as he was taught by the monks was wrong, but will injure if he must.

Ryu is a very loving person, who will try to save everyone in trouble. Over the last year he's had his work cut out for him with the Poison Rose causing trouble and pain to innocents. Ryu wants to help those injured and stop those causing pain to the innocents. He doesn't care as much if fighters are injured, seeing as they could be viewed as enemies, but innocents did nothing to these Poison Rose people, and finds it quite terrible. If he's promised safety of the innocents, he might do almost anything to protect them, if that is possible while keeping his teachings from the monks.
